Zambartas Wineries was awarded with a gold medal at the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition in Greece for its Rose 2014. Zambartas Rose was the 3rd best Rose of the competition, with the no. 1 and 2 Rose’s both from Greek origin. Zambartas Rose also received a special mention, being “the best blend of a Greek and foreign grape variety” of the competition. Zambartas Wineries was awarded wit two Silver Medals at the 8th Cyprus Wine Competition. The results were announced during an award ceremony on 25 April in the Limassol Municipal Gardens. The judging committee consisted of local and international judges and the competition was organised under the auspices of the OIV. Our Maratheftiko 2013 and Lefkada-Shiraz 2013 were both awarded with silver medals. We were very honoured that the competition was dedicated to Akis Zambartas.
All the wines we entered at the Decanter World Wine Awards this year were awarded, which proves the consistency along our range. In total, we received 5 medals, a silver for our Rose 2014 and Bronze medals were awarded to our Shiraz-Lefkada 2013, Maratheftiko 2013, Xynisteri 2014 and Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc 2014. We have received a gold medal and two silver medals at the International Wine Competition of Thessaloniki 2016 where more than 500 wines were tasted blind. The award winning wines are Lefkada-Shiraz 2013, Zambartas Marhatheftiko 2014 and Zambartas Rosé 2015. It is the 3rd time in a row that Zambartas winery receives a gold medal during this competition. We are happy to announce that we have been awarded 6 medals at this year’s Cyprus Wine Competition. Our wines were distinguished amongst 132 wine labels of 29 Cypriot wineries which participated in the 9th Cyprus Wine Competition. Our Rose 2015 and Lefkada-Shiraz 2014 were both awarded with a Gold Medal and our Maratheftiko 2014, Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Xynisteri Single Vineyard 2015 and Shiraz-Lefkada 2013 received Silver Medals.
At this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards, held in early May in London, we have received 1 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals.
