We are happy to announce that we have been awarded with medals during the 23rd Thessaloniki International Wine Competition, held between 14-16 February in Greece. Under the supervision of 5 Master's of Wine and Master Sommelier', 955 Greek and Cypriot wines were tasted and evaluated, by a panel of 26 wine professionals. Zambartas Wineries was awarded with a gold medal at the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition in Greece for its Rose 2014. Zambartas Rose was the 3rd best Rose of the competition, with the no. 1 and 2 Rose’s both from Greek origin. Zambartas Rose also received a special mention, being “the best blend of a Greek and foreign grape variety” of the competition. Zambartas Wineries was awarded wit two Silver Medals at the 8th Cyprus Wine Competition. The results were announced during an award ceremony on 25 April in the Limassol Municipal Gardens. The judging committee consisted of local and international judges and the competition was organised under the auspices of the OIV. Our Maratheftiko 2013 and Lefkada-Shiraz 2013 were both awarded with silver medals. We were very honoured that the competition was dedicated to Akis Zambartas.
All the wines we entered at the Decanter World Wine Awards this year were awarded, which proves the consistency along our range. In total, we received 5 medals, a silver for our Rose 2014 and Bronze medals were awarded to our Shiraz-Lefkada 2013, Maratheftiko 2013, Xynisteri 2014 and Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc 2014.
