Gastronomos Award for Best White Wine 2023
Our Single Vineyard Xynisteri was awarded by Gastronomos, the culinary magazine of Kathimerini Newspaper, as the best white wine of Cyprus during their 2023 award ceremony, held in Nicosia on 27 June. Every year Gastronomos awards and celebrates local businesses and their products for their authenticity, taste and appeal. Awards are given for amongst others, best olive oil, best halloumi, best honey and best red and white wine, as well as best sustainable practices and best authentic restaurant. We support and appreciate this initiative to highlight our local produce and elevate their culinary value.
We were honoured to receive the award for best white wine this year, for our organically produced Single Vineyard Xynisteri, a wine that we produce, with the terroir and environment in mind.
The wine is very complex, with flavours of white flowers and citrus, combined with aromas of sour dough bread and toast, given by the barrel. The wine has weight on the palate, derived from the sur-lees ageing.
