Meet Maratheftiko!
On Sunday 5 December, we welcome you to a Vertical Tasting of our Maratheftiko wines, presented by Marcos. Get introduced to Cyprus’ most prominent red grape variety with a presentation about the variety’s history and its characteristics, followed by a tasting of 7 Maratheftiko wines. This will provide an in depth understanding of the variety and its ageing potential.
We will present to you, the 2006 Maratheftiko-Shiraz blend vintage, which was the first Maratheftiko wine produced by Akis Zambartas. We will then move on to the 2013-2015-2016-2017-2018 single varietal Maratheftiko reds. A tank sample of the 2021 vintage will be presented to understand the different production stages. The tasting will be accompanied by still & sparkling water and a small platter of charcuterie and cheese.
