Harvest in full swing!
September marks one of the busiest months of the year at Zambartas Wineries. Whilst we start the harvest of the grapes in early August, it is in September that the bulk of the work is done. Grapes that were harvested previous month are fermenting and need constant attention, and at the same time we receive tons of grapes to process. The team is working hard, making long days, to assure that all the wines are developing towards the wine styles we aim to make.
This year has been marked by a dry winter and hot summer, lowering the yields and sometimes requiring to harvest earlier than expected. Uncertainty is always there and the key is to manage this with quick, but conscious decision making. We are happy that we can rely on a strong team, both in the vineyards and in the cellar, that are living up to this task very well.
We continue until the middle of October with the harvest, and are excited to see the 2022 wines take shape.
